Planet Scuba India — Learn to dive at home, save your holiday for the ocean
Bengaluru  ·  A full dive centre

Learn here.
Spend your holiday diving.

Most people learn to dive on a beach with four days booked and a flight home on Tuesday. We think that's backwards. Do the training in a Bengaluru pool, at whatever pace you actually need, and let your vacation be the part where you're underwater in the ocean rather than practising mask clearing.

The argument

Why learn at home.

Having a dive centre in your own city changes what training feels like — and it changes what happens after the course ends, which matters more than people expect.

No clock

Take the time you need

If you need three pool sessions instead of one to feel solid, you take three. No instructor is watching a departure time, and nobody is nudged through a skill they haven't got yet because the group has to move on.

Better holidays

Arrive already trained

Do the theory and the pool work here, and the days you've flown for get spent on actual dives instead of drills in a shallow bay. Same certification, far better trip.

After the course

A home base, not a receipt

Somewhere to meet other divers and find people to go with, get gear advice that isn't a sales pitch, and keep your skills alive between trips. Most people who certify on holiday never dive again — mainly because they go home to nobody.

Who teaches you

Two instructors. Both of them, every time.

No rotating cast of seasonal staff — this is who you'll be in the water with.

Madhava Reddy

Scuba diver · Former journalist

Madhava spent years working as a journalist before diving took over, and that old job still shows in how he works with people. He asks questions until he understands exactly what is worrying you, and then explains it back in plain language instead of textbook language.

If you're the sort of person who wants to know why a rule exists before you follow it underwater, he's the one you'll want to talk to first.

Saurav

Master Instructor

Saurav started diving at 13, which means he has spent most of his life in the water and has almost certainly seen whatever it is you're nervous about. He is a Master Instructor and a three-time Elite Instructor.

That award is counted from the number of divers a person actually certifies each year — so it measures time spent teaching in the water, not time spent collecting qualifications.

Not sure which program you want?

That's the normal state of affairs and it's the easiest thing for us to fix. Tell us roughly where you're at — never been underwater, certified years ago, trip already booked — and we'll tell you what we'd actually recommend, including when the answer is the cheaper option.
